Dr. Zenko J. Hrynkiw is a neurosurgeon with Grandview Medical Group. Dr. Hrynkiw has been treating patients in Alabama for nearly 40 years and is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Hrynkiw diagnoses and treats all types of neurological conditions, including:
- Tumors of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, skull and spine
- Spinal problems causing neck or back pain, numbness or weakness
- Peripheral nerve injuries
- Neurovascular disorders
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Disorders or infections of the brain, including epilepsy, hydrocephalus, malformations from birth
- Traumatic injuries to the brain and/or spine
Dr. Hrynkiw attended and graduated cum laude with a medical degree from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. He completed residencies in both general and neurological surgery at Loyola University Hospital, and his fellowship in cerebrovascular postgraduate training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Hrynkiw enjoys walking and playing tennis and received national attention in 2015 when he walked six miles in a debilitating snow storm to save a man’s life.
