About
Alexia Powers Novara, M.D., is a board certified OB/GYN practicing at Women's Health Specialists of Birmingham. A native of Birmingham, she completed her undergraduate degree at Auburn University, earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans.
Dr. Novara said that she chose women’s health because as a women’s healthcare provider, she gets to walk through every aspect of a women’s life together – from routine to preventive visits, contraception, prenatal care, deliveries, menopause and everything in between. She feels this gives providers the amazing privilege of getting to know their patients on a deeper and more personal level to offer the best care possible.
Dr. Novara is an avid reader, traveler and fitness enthusiast (she even has a 4th degree black belt). She and her husband have two sons and they are big Auburn fans.
Dr. Novara cares for patients ages 12 and older.
